      Ashburn Christmas Parade

      The Parade will be held on Saturday, December 14th from 6 p.m. until approximately 7 p.m.  About this Event Greetings Parade Participants: Can you believe that Christmas is just a few months away and it is that time of the year once again for you to show-off your great decorating talent?! Plans are currently underway for Annual Ashburn Christmas Celebration to be held December 14th.  We want to emphasize our theme with music, candy, lights, and sounds of Christmas as we kickoff the holiday season! The Parade will be held on Saturday, December 14th from 6 p.m. until approximately 7 p.m. Immediately following the parade, all participants and spectators are invited to walk into Downtown Ashburn for the Christmas Celebration that will begin as soon as the parade is over and will last through the evening until ending around 8 p.m. The theme this year is — City of Lights! We encourage everyone to decorate your homes and businesses with beautiful Christmas lights!  Please purchase your ticket as soon as possible so that your spot for the parade will be secured. (Deadline for entry is November 18th or when spaces sell out.) Participants should carry a banner, sign, or the like for identification by media and parade judges. Non-refundable Parade Entry Fee - NO REFUNDS of any kind $10 by November 31st Please sign up early. There will be no on-site registration. THE PARADE ROUTE: The parade route will begin at the Turner County Civic Center and will proceed down Washington Ave, then making a left turn at Farmer's Furniture onto S Gordon Street, then another left onto S. Monroe and back to the Civic Center.  IS THERE A FEE TO BE IN THE PARADE? Yes, $10 for each entry for any applicant.  DO I PROVIDE A VEHICLE AND DRIVER TO PULL MY GROUP’S FLOAT? Yes, you must provide your own vehicle and licensed driver. MAY OUR GROUP GIVE OUT CANDY? To ensure that the parade is coordinated with SAFETY as our top priority, please DO NOT throw candy, pamphlets, OR any items while driving or riding in the parade. If you have a person who will be walking along the parade route, they may hand out candy or information to parade attendees. Please protect the safety of our children and respect this regulation. CAN MY ENTRY INCLUDE HORSES OR OTHER ANIMALS? Yes. However, it is the responsibility of the patrons owning or using any animal to provide their own clean-up crew. WHAT IF IT RAINS? The parade will take place rain or shine. In the event of an unforeseen tragedy or dangerous situation, the parade will be cancelled. WILL DOWNTOWN BUSINESSES BE OPEN? Yes! Many businesses will be open during the festivities. We invite you to walk, shop, and restaurant hop! Encourage your favorite stores to be open for holiday shopping. Check individual stores for schedules. CAN I PLAY MUSIC WHILE RIDING IN THE PARADE? Yes, however, the music MUST BE CHILD appropriate, it cannot include any profanity. Please let us know if you have should have questions. WILL THE PARADE BE TELEVISED? Yes! The Cordele Station and The Fun Channel will televise the parade and the festivities that occur immediately following the parade. These videos will air on television shortly after the event is over. Check with these channels for broadcasting schedules. JUDGING Please note that the parade judges will be evaluating your entry. Winners are determined by the name as listed on the parade application. If you are a part of a group/club, please be clear and decide if you wish for the application to be for the entire group/club or a specific component of the group/club. Participants should carry a banner, sign or the like for identification by media and judges. Please DO NOT use a real or fake Santa Claus in your decorations. The City of Tifton will provide a Santa Claus during the parade. DOES THE Chamber of Commerce PROFESSIONAL FLOATS? We do not provide professional float services.
