Pat Wictor and Noah Zacharin in concert at Sundilla

Two incredible performers will share the Sundilla stage when Pat Wictor and Noah Zacharin team up on Friday, June 12. Showtime at the AUUF is 7:30, and advance tickets are just $15 and can be found at Spicer’s Music, Ross House Coffee, and online at sundillamusic.com; admission at the door will be $20. Free coffee, tea, water and food will be available, and the audience is welcome to bring their own favorite food or beverage.
Pat Wictor and Noah Zacharin have built successful individual careers. Thanks to a chance pairing at the 2019 Opelika Songwriters Festival, they (and everyone who saw them perform) realized that they sound great when performing together. It's not something that their respective schedules will allow to happen often, so we feel lucky to be able to present them both in one show.
Pat has appeared at Sundilla before, though as part of the trio Brother Sun, the powerful harmonizing trio with Joe Jencks and Greg Greenway. For seven years they garnered critical acclaim, two #1 CDs on the Folk DJ charts, and a continent-spanning tour schedule. But Pat first burst on the folk and acoustic scene as an innovative slide guitarist known for fresh and memorable interpretations of traditional and contemporary songs. An adept improviser and accompanist, he is sought after as a collaborator, sideman and session musician, with over 60 recording credits to date, including releases by Sloan Wainwright, Jon Vezner, Joe Crookston, and David LaMotte.

An American by birth, Pat's early years were spent in Venezuela, the Netherlands, Norway, England, and East Texas. His time abroad gave him an outsider’s wide perspective, and set him on a journey to understanding America - and his own American-ness - through music. His early experiences made him accustomed to charting his own course and being ready for the unexpected.
Noah Zacharin is a widely acclaimed guitar master, multi-genre songwriter, and dynamic performer. He was given his first guitar at age 9, wrote his first song at 13, and began performing at 14. Born in Montreal, Zacharin splits his time between Toronto, the road, and an off-grid cabin on the Canadian Shield.
He has been called "a stunning guitarist...no stylistic boundaries" (Holger Peterson, CBC, Stony Plain Records), "a wonderful songwriter and performer" (Paul Mills, Borealis Records), "a poet, a songwriter, a singer we have been waiting for" (the late Penny Lang), "a great guitarist/ singer/ songwriter...a wonderfully musical player" (Randy Finney, Founder TFGA), "in a league of his own" (Brian Gladstone, Founder and AD Winterfolk Festival), "one of the best songwriters this country has produced" (the late great Rick Fielding, recording artist, radio host), and "deserving to be mentioned in the same breath with names such as James Taylor and David Wilcox" (Minor 7th).
Zacharin's recordings have all garnered popular and critical praise: Strange Rider (2016) made a number of ‘Best-Of’ lists for 2016. His 8th, A Startle of Wings, has just been released, and is an intimate solo 14-song journey through genres, concerns, and rhythms. Renowned DJ Michael Stock of WLRN says: “a beautiful album…rare to hear an album of solo vocal and guitar sound so full.”
As a soloist he has opened shows for Odetta, David Lindley, Dave Van Ronk, Jesse Winchester, Alex de Grassi, and Fairport Convention, and performed internationally in 100's of venues from club to concert hall. As a producer and instrumentalist he has performed with some of Canada's finest and appears on some 60 recordings by artists from across North America.
A solo performance by either Noah or Pat would be an evening well spent. But both of them together, in one performance? That’s a special evening that you owe it to yourself to attend.
