Virtual Bakersfield Marathon & Mini Marathon

We are pleased to announce FOUR new virtual events for 2020! In an effort to celebrate the symbolic marathon we’re all taking part in at this moment with COVID-19, we’re going to deep-dive into all things 26.2.

Join the community of Bakersfield, CA, from wherever you are in the world and run a quick 2.62 miles or a full 26.2 miles. Any of our events may be walked or run — and as you’ll see, we offer a few variations for those looking for a unique challenge! You’ll have a full 48-hours throughout our race weekend to complete your chosen event.

THE VIRTUAL BAKERSFIELD MINI MARATHON (2.62 MILES)

Lace up and lay down your best 2.62 miles – a distance just shy of 5K. Or you could opt to grab your family and head out on a light run or walk. Either way, you can celebrate the spirit of tackling the marathon-level events of 2020!

THE VIRTUAL BAKERSFIELD MARATHON (26.2 MILES)

We’re offering our flagship event, a full 26.2-mile marathon, with 3 possible variations ...

1. CONTINUOUS

For the pent-up marathoner. Give us your best 26.2 miles during our race weekend. If you don’t like your first time, run it again!  Submit your best marathon time from within the 48-hour race window to complete this challenge.

2. NON-CONTINUOUS

For those that would love to run 26.2 miles, just not in a row! You can chop your 26.2 into any combination of distances you like. You might choose to run 2 half marathons, or maybe a half plus a few 5Ks. Break it up any way you see fit — just be sure to run a total of 26.2 miles during the 48-hour race window to complete this challenge.

3. MILERS

26 miles in 26 individual, 1-mile segments across 26 hours. You can walk, you can run, you can crawl on your belly like a reptile. You just gotta log exactly 1 mile each hour for 26 consecutive hours — and these suckers start every hour, on the hour. And did we mention we’re looking for 26 in a row? Find the joy in the beautiful mile. (P.S. if you choose this challenge, we’ll knock off that last little 0.2 miles...!)
