      Celebrating Judith Chalmer's new book, MINNOW

      Join us for a lovely evening to celebrate Burlington poet Judith Chalmer's newest collection, Minnow -- just in time to kick off National Poetry Month in April. The evening will include a reading, a signing, and light refreshments.

      ABOUT THE BOOK: Mostly situated in public parks, the poems in MINNOW begin with close observation of natural detail and move from there into explorations of love, purpose, mortality and awe.

      ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Judith Chalmer is the author of one previous collection of poems, OUT OF HISTORY'S JUNK JAR (Time Being Books 1995), and is co-translator of two books of haiku and tanka with poet, Michiko Oishi, RED FISH ALPHABET (Honami Syoten, Tokyo 2008) and DEEPENING SNOW (Plowboy Press 2012). Before retiring in 2017, she was Executive Director of VSA Vermont, recently re-named Inclusive Arts Vermont. In 2018 she received the Arthur Williams Award from the Vermont Arts Council for Meritorious Service in the Arts. She lives in Burlington with her partner, Lisa.
