As an NBA player, MWP received numerous accolades that included Defensive Player of the Year, NBA All Star, and an NBA Championship. During his NBA career, MWP played for 6 teams that included the Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets, New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Lakers. In 2010, as a Laker, he helped deliver the World Championship as he hit, arguably, the key shot in the fourth quarter that sealed the win for his team. Showing his compassion for mental health, MWP raffled off his NBA Championship Ring, collecting more than $625,000 for nonprofit organizations that provide mental health services. In 2013, along with Congresswoman Napolitano, MWP testified before Congress on behalf of the Mental Health in School's act, which helped raise more than $200 million in grant funding for 200 schools.
