      Understanding Fiscal Responsibility: A History of Social Security Webinar

      Delaware K-12 social studies teachers are invited to join us on November 8, 2020 for this virtual lecture, produced by the national Council for Economic Education.

      In this webinar, educators will use the latest EdTech tools to teach about the creation of Social Security. Using political cartoons, video clips, and primary source documents, participantss will learn how to engage students in critical thinking related to the legacy and sustainability of the Social Security program.

      Note that this session focuses on Inquiry Based Learning and the Understanding Fiscal Responsibility framework.

      After attending, teachers will be able to examine primary and secondary sources for information and interpretations and outline the reasons for establishing Social Security in 1935.
