Helping Hands Humane Society and Honorary Chair Judy Row invite you to the annual celebration of the human-animal bond…  Since 2001, Bone Appétit has been our annual celebration of the unique bond between humans and animals. Funds raised at this event go towards the care of the over 6,000 animals admitted to HHHS each year. These funds are vital to continuing our lifesaving mission as the Northeast Kansas Animal Resource Center. The live, silent, and wine auctions are some of the highlights of Bone Appétit. You’ll hear about the progress being made to make Topeka a more humane city. You’ll also be able to meet adoptable pets and hear updates about animals you’ve helped save. This event is expected to sell out, so be sure to purchase your tickets today! Tickets start at only $60. For an additional $15, you can upgrade to a VIP seat which will put you closer to the stage. Tables of 10 can also be purchased and sponsorship opportunities are available. Did you know that it currently costs about $4,400 a day to operate Helping Hands Humane Society? With thousands of animals coming to us each year, the cost to care for them is staggering but unavoidable. With your support, we are able to provide pets with the second best home they’ll ever have. Donating at this event will help our medical center spay and neuter pets, provide lifesaving care, and keep the pets healthy. Your support will also assist us in community outreach and education ventures. Please join us at Bone Appétit or give a gift that will surely help save a life. There is no need to print your paper ticket. All guests will check in at registration. To avoid the online fees, you may call the Helping Hands Humane Society Gift Shop to purchase will-call tickets over the phone at (785) 233-7325. Your support at this event will help HHHS save more lives and accomplish their goals in the 2020 Vision. This innovative campaign focuses on the following areas: Increase Lifesaving Potential HHHS can achieve a 90% live release rate by the end of the year 2020. Through proactive outreach programs and innovative adoption programs, more pets will be saved. Animal Health & Wellness Shawnee County is a resource desert for pets in need. HHHS is willing to take on the task of offering limited services for pets in need of veterinary care. Pets that need these services the most will likely never go to a veterinarian. By providing resources to pets in need, we’ll be able to keep pets with their families, rather than them being surrendered to the shelter. Create a Humane Community We need more public spaces for pets. We’ll also identify and promote pet friendly businesses with the hopes of making Topeka the most humane capital city in the nation. We’ll also offer in-depth education programs at no charge for area schools. Promote Animal Welfare HHHS will raise awareness for the link between domestic violence and animal abuse. We’ll continue to lobby for better pet related laws and regulations. Capital Improvements Even though our facility is only 5 years old, we are in desperate need of technological, fleet, and energy upgrades which will help us accomplish our mission and save more pets.
