13th Annual Nashua International Sculpture Symposium

Three international sculptors will be spending three weeks at The Picker Artists at 3 Pine Street in Nashua, each creating a large granite or metal outdoor sculpture to be given to the City and installed in a public place for all to enjoy.

Truly a community project, the public is encouraged to welcome the sculptors, host them in their homes, provide meals, visit the sculptors as they work, learn about their cultures and thank them at the closing. Nashua is the only city in the United States with an annual international sculpture symposium. Google Nashua Sculpture Symposium to view all the sculptures.

The three 2020 Symposium sculptors are Jina Lee from South Korea, Taylor Apostol from USA and Jorg Van Daele from Belgium. The sculptors will be directed by James Larson, graduate of Hamilton College as Studio Art Major with Concentration in Sculpture, and Studio Manager at Andres Institute of Art. Jim has been involved in the Nashua Symposium since 2014 and was Artistic Director with John Weidman in 2019. The 2020 Symposium theme ‘Whimsy.’ It will be interesting to see how our creative sculptors interpret Whimsy into stone or metal.
